GORE WARNING!!!

Echo groaned, she opened her eyes for just couple of seconds before she knocked out, a paw poked her. She slowly opened her eyes and spotted her Snowy's white fur. Echo moaned in pain and squirmed around before settling down. Snowy held soaked moss and dripped the water into Echo's mouth.

Echo lied in the nest for awhile, she rose her head "What happened? I remember is climbing a tree and then I fell and my name was being called." She asked as Snowy looked at her, " You fell from a tree and Rose happened to be the one to witness it. She brought you back here and Leaf and I nursed you back to health, I think." Snowy replied, as she toyed with a pebble. The wind howled,  clouds flew in blue sky. " Anyway, take this poppy seed and it will help you out." Snowy meowed as she shoved small dot at Echo

Cave and Rock both came in the den, and padded over to Echo. " I am so glad your fine." Cave purred, the tom nuzzled Echo's cheek. " I was so worried, Echo!" Rock spoke after. Echo nodded and dipped her head to eat the seed, she gulped the bitter flavor. Cave and Rock said their goodbyes and left. Snowy sat down to eat her meal with Leaf. " Hey Leaf, I am quite curious abou your past, It's fine if you don't want to talk about it." Snowy said suddenly.

Her fur prickled, as Leaf took a deep breath, " I don't mind telling you, you see. Long ago, I was a clan cat who train as medicine cat apprentice. My parents were disappointed at me, saying that I should've chose a better path." Leaf mewed, quickly licked his paw. " But I didn't care about them and trained as medicine cat apprentice for three moons, for past of those moons. My parents told everyone to tease me,  call me names and spoke of discouragement at me. I ran away about two sunrises. I returned and saw that nothing changed. So I tricked my parents into eating yew berries or what clans call it deathberries. That moment, I realized I was a murderder, I killed my parents for vengeance." Leaf mewed and looked outside. " Unable to tell anyone, I ran away for good. But I grew hungry and weak because I didn't know how to hunt or fight. I eventually met Arick and his group." Leaf said, he got up and went into shade where his nest lied.

Snowy was speechless and looked at her mentor. Was clan life that bad? Nothing but mean cats who tease because of a path?  Snowy shook her head, groomed her fur until it was flat and smooth. Echo's ears flicked, Clan?

Sunrises flew by and Echo was healed and back to training.  Rat and Echo gotten very close by then, Echo waved her tail in goodbye as she left to train and Rat stayed to help at the camp. Some cats  left and some stayed, Rat rolled some moss for kits to play with and brought foods to elders, " Rat! May you go fetch some more moss?"  Lance called out, Rat sighed but nodded. He slid through a tunnel and ran off to forest.

Rat pulled some moss and gather it as a bundle. Rat looked around and clawed the tree bark, He hissed and clawed it again, with snarls and narrowed eyes. Rat jumped and pulled a leaf, tearing it with his claws. He heard something move in the bushes, he turned around. " Come on, guys. This isn't funny." He hissed, slowly crept to bush. He saw two large paws, not cat paws. he looked up and his body shivered as he met a badger.

Rat snarled and leapt onto it's face, he bit the badger's ear. The badger growled and snarled, foam spilling it's mouth. A huge paw slammed into Rat, he yowled as his body rolled onto ground. The badger pinned onto ground, Rat squirmed and fought but it was no use. He shouted " Someone help me! Help me! Som-" Rat was cut off, the claws of a badger sunk into his throat and slowly slid and stopped at his belly. He gasped, his eye twitched before they both rolled up and head fell down. Rat fell limp on the floor, his blood poured rapidly.

Echo returned to camp, awhile ago and then saw something horrible. Rat's beaten and bloody body brought into camp by Lance. " May all cats gather!" Arick yowled.  Cats come out and some gasped and some were shocked and few were sad. " One of our loyal soldiers were killed by a badger." Arick meowed, hardly could speak. Cats dipped their head in despair and some yelped in sorrow.  When the sun was dropping, cats gather around mourn for their dead friend.

Flowers surrounded Rat's dead body, few cats spoke their last words and some cried at his mourning place. Flowers slowly waved as shadows grew small. Echo stumbled over to her friend's body. She plopped a lily flower, she picked from a small pond. Echo reached over to pressed her nose into his fur. Tears descended from her cheeks and she opened her mouth. " I love you, thank for being there for me." Echo whispered. Rat saw his body and gave Echo  a nuzzle before he left for good.

" Poor Echo, this is first time she faced loss." Snowy spoke, eyes glowing in sadness. " She will need time to heal but mentally." Leaf mewed as he touch his head with Snowy's. Snowy closed her eyes for couple heartbeats before she went to her sister's side, Cave and Rock went as well.
