You just came home from a spa day with your girlfriends. You guys decided to stay out late and have fun together, for you rarely got to see them. You were normally with your boyfriend, Michael, and he didn't like you going out a lot. So you were glad to get some time away to just chill with the girls. You came up the front porch steps, unlocked the door, and stepped inside the house, looking around for Michael. His car was parked in the driveway, but there wasn't a trace of him anywhere. "Michael, honey, I'm home!" You yelled loudly, hoping he was just upstairs. You set your keys down on the kitchen table and ran upstairs to look for him.

 As you carefully knocked on the bedroom door, you realized something was not right. "Michael, are you OK?" You yelled through the door. All you could hear was scuffling inside and whispers. The door wasn't locked, so you opened it slowly, only to find Michael pulling on his pants beside a half-naked girl. He was shocked and just stared at you like a deer in headlights. You didn't know what to think, all you knew was that he obviously cheated on you, and you hated him right now. "GET OUT NOW!" You screamed furiously at the girl beside him. She quickly got off the bed and tried to run out of the room, but you blocked her before she left and said, "I hate you, you dirty little cheating bitch! NEVER come near here again! Or I will kill you!" You violently pushed her out of the room and slammed the door, returning your attention to Michael.

"I-I-I can explain baby," he said quietly, trying to alleviate some of your rage. "We were just-"

You cut him off before he could finish, "No! I hate you! You're a cheater, and I should've known! I never loved you and never will! If all you care about is sex, then get another girl, because I'm leaving, Michael. I despise you!" Your voice cracked as you finished. You felt destroyed inside. He took your heart and stomped on it until it was shattered, and then ripped it apart into shreds. You could see that he never loved you or anyone. You wanted to kick him in the head and just leave him there lying on the floor, but instead you ran out of the room as fast as you could, leaving Michael and his sorry excuses. He stared down at the bed as you walked out and whispered pitifully, "I'm so sorry." But you didn't care, you slammed the door and ran to your car. You needed to drive away from this place, away from him. As far away from him as you could get.

You decided to just drive to Nashville, where your sister lived. Maybe she could help you until you were able to find a job. All night long you drove, with your phone buzzing every 3 minutes because Michael was texting you. "I don't want to hear your sorry excuses, cheater," you said through tears. Eventually, it was daybreak, and you had to pull over at a gas station. It was there that you just couldn't take it anymore and broke down and cried. You collapsed on the wheel of the car and let out all the pent up emotions you had. It didn't take you long to realize it was a mistake to leave him like that. He deserved a chance at least.

You looked at your phone and saw the texts Michael had sent. He seemed really sorry and upset. You texted him back, telling him how much he hurt you, and saying you were sorry for being so rash. You didn't really hate him, but he hurt you so bad, it made you want to yell out in pain.

He texted you back asking you to come home and give him a chance.

You were still very mad at him, but everyone deserves a chance, you thought. You had only driven a couple states away, and decided to give him one last chance. You filled up your car and headed back home to Michael. You were still broken inside, but you thought maybe he was really sorry. As you pulled in the driveway late that night, Michael ran out of the house to meet you. He didn't hug you, he just fell on his knees right there in the driveway, crying. 

"I'm so so sorry!" His tears were streaming down his face, and he looked like he'd been up all night long. "What I did was wrong, and I know that. I understand if you hate me and want to kill me. I want to die. I feel horrible for causing you so much pain. I'll never cheat on you again because I really truly do love you from the bottom of my heart!" He uncontrollably sobbed on the ground. You fell onto your knees with him and whispered through your own tears, "I forgive you. I love you too. I never want to live without you." You both sat on the driveway and cried for some time before Michael got up, dried his tears, and led you inside the house.

He cooked you soup and hot chocolate as a peace offering, and talked with you deeply about how sorry he was. He really did love you, and he just made a mistake. Everyone makes miatakes you thought. You loved him too, with all your heart, and never wanted to let him go again. He meant the world to you, and when you left him your world died. In the end, everything turned out OK. You both loved each other very much, and Michael never cheated again.
