Personality:

Caerwyn is, like you'd expect, a romantic. He believes that true love will always find a way to triumph over any circumstance, and he doesn't respond well to people speaking poorly of love.

When it comes to his own love life, however, it's obvious that Caerwyn believes he will never find his true love. His heart and hopes for it were both crushed a long time ago, and so Caerwyn believes that he is one of those people that's meant to be alone.

Because of thoughts like that, Caerwyn often calls himself a hypocrite. He tells everyone else not to give up on finding true love, but he's given up himself.

Still, the angel attempts to stay positive with everything else. He works hard, behaves kindly and politely, and doesn't let the thought of dying alone get him down...Too often at least.

Backstory:

Caerwyn was born to two incredibly loving parents. He had what's considered to be a normal life for an angel of love, and was very happy as he grew up.

Like all "cupids", Caerwyn was taught that he should never ever fall in love with a mortal. Doing so would only hurt him. If he tried to pursue that love, it would cause the mortal to miss out on a destined relationship and Caerwyn would be punished.

For a long time, Caerwyn didn't have any issues with this. He loved his job, and he was great at not getting too attached to the humans he was assigned to.

That is, until he was assigned to a beautiful young lady named Eliza. Caerwyn fell head over heels for her, and she fell for him as well. Caerwyn broke the rules for Eliza, believing that if she loved him back then it was simply meant to be.

However, when the other angels found out about the relationship Caerwyn's punishment came swift and sudden. Eliza was made to forget about Caerwyn completely, and was quickly married to the man Caerwyn had been supposed to place her with in the first place.

Caerwyn was heartbroken, but that wasn't the end of it. His real punishment was having his wings ripped out, and most of his powers stripped away. He was then made to live among the humans full time until he could earn his wings and powers back.

That allowed the angel to see firsthand how happy Eliza was without him. He watched as the woman he'd believed to be his true loved spent her life with another man, and how it seemed to be perfect. The thought hit him that he almost prevented Eliza's true happiness because he'd loved her. That hurt more than the wounds on his back.

The angel made up his mind to never allow himself to love another human again.
