Chapter 1

Mudbray knocked on Mareeps door nervously.
She stepped away from the door, waiting for the door to swing open, with Mareep jumping onto her like every day.
It took a Mareep a bit longer to open, though, which Mudbray fully understood.
Mareep was probably extremely nervous, since today was the day that the two would travel to Hoenn.
Mareep was a bit dissapointed that after 11 years her mother's wish came true.
Mareep opened the door, but didn't say much after. She just said "Hi.".
Mudbray prodded her hoof against the grass, just randomly. "Soo... Are you ready for the great journey?"
Mareep looked away. "It's just travelling to a region that isnt far away. You traveled all the way from Alola!"

Mudbray laughed."You're nervous."
"No I'm not!" Mareep said, blushing.
The donkey pokemon sighed. "So, where is my hello?"
Mareep stared angrily at her first, then laughed and closed the door. She then opened the door and jumped onto Mudbray. "Now I'm ready!"

They started walking together, actually heading to the Whirl islands.
"I'm not leaving Johto without finding the red Gyarados first." Mudbray muttered.
Mareep smiled. "Fine, I dragged you into this in the first place."
Ever since Mudbray was a little foal, she had a shelf full of stories of the red Gyarados.
Her life-long goal was to find it, and now, since she was about to leave Johto, she wanted to see it.

The two friends trotted to the lake of rage happily, talking about their memories in Johto.

"I don't really have a lot of good memories here. The only one is that I met you." Mareep said.
Mudbray blushed. "T-thank you."
"But don't get any ideas!" Mudbray said, in a high tone.
Mudbray laughed. "I didn't."

The two finally arrived at the lake of rage, patiently waiting for the red gyarados.
Mudbray couldn't help but nibble on some biscuits that she brought along for the journey.

Mareep shut her eyes, because she was bored. Nothing was coming.
She fell asleep.

"Mommy?!"
"Mareep..."
"Mommy!"
"I love you, Mareep."
"MOMMY! NO!"

Mareep woke up, but not because she had a nightmare.
Mudbray was prodding Mareep with her hoof.
"Hmm?"
Mudbray whispered, "The red Gyarados! Look, quickly!"
Mareep's heart sank in happiness. She grabbed her camera, hooves shaking.
The Gyarados was fascinating.
She took a picture quickly.

The two watched it dive underwater again, and then stood up, stretching themselves.
"Owch, my legs." Mareep sighed.
They galloped to the whirl islands, where they would set off to Hoenn on two jetski's.
"And you really thought this through?" Mareep asked Mudbray nervously.
"Yeah yeah, of course."
"Hm."

They finally arrived, and they hopped in their jetski's.
Mareep took a deep breath and plopped her bag in the back of the boat. "Alright. Hoenn's waiting for us!"

"Woooo!" Mudbray laughed as she started bolting across the ocean with her jetski. "H-hey, wait up!" Mareep yelled.

The sun was setting, and they slowed down. "This is so beautiful." Both said at the same time. They giggled. "Stop copying me!" They said this at the same time again.
Mareep and Mudbray's eyes met.

Mareep was feeling overwhelmingly happy, all of the memories of Mudbray and her flooded her mind like water floods a sinking boat.
She sighed happily, and looked at the horizon. "Do you think... We will make it?" Mareep whispered.
Her friend nodded. "Of course. No need to worry."
They smiled once more and then started up the jetski's again.

A few hours later, the suns rays showed once more until they dissapeared behind the horizon.
Mareep put her head on her bag to sleep, showing Mudbray with a tired look that she should sleep aswell.

The two closed their eyes, and entered the world of dreams like every night.

Mareep woke up because of a loud splash and a high pitched scream.

Mudbray was in the water, struggling to reach her jetski.

Ever since Mareep can remember, Mudbray has had an intense fear of the water that just wouldn't go away.

"Mudbray!" Mareep shouted. She took a deep breath and jumped into the ice cold water.

Mudbray was sinking. Her eyes were wide open, filled with panic.

Mareeps body structure wasn't suitable for swimming, so it was hard to reach Mudbray.

But Mareep wouldn't let her die.

Her only hope was to dive after her, but she wasn't sure if she could make it.

But before Mareep knew it, she was infront of the sinking pokemon and grabbed her.

The two returned to the surface and climbed on the jetskis.

"Mudbray.." Mareep was sobbing silently. "You almost died...!"

Mudbray smiled weakly. " 'Tis fine. Don't you worry!"

"Let's go now... We still have to reach Hoenn."

Mudbray nodded and laughed. "Yes, captain!"
